Dear Mr Porteous,

The Staff and pupils of St Mary's Primary School are delighted to report on the success of the Dolphin Peer Tutoring Scheme!

We have been using the programme for a full year now and have seen both confidence and standards rise significantly (and that includes the staff!). We feel that the Ladder of Success gives us something to aim for in manageable chunks and we are all enjoying making progress and moving up.

It has been particularly pleasing to see how well the pupils are able to tutor each other and we have discovered some natural teachers amongst the children.

As an ICT Co-ordinator with other curriculum and management responsibilities, I have been extremely impressed by how easily the scheme can be picked up and organised by people who do not consider themselves ICT literate. One of our Teaching Assistants has taken on responsibility for administering the scheme and feels her ICT skills have increased enormously as she stays one step ahead of the children on the Ladder! Other Teaching Assistants will become involved this year.

Congratulations on producing such a successful scheme! We look forward to continuing with it and to working with you on any new developments.
