ICT Skills Step by Step
Dolphin is designed to be easy to use. Simple instructions lead pupils and teachers step by step through each task.
Help buttons are provided at every stage, for a variety of common software programs. Pupils or teachers can click on these whenever necessary, to get detailed pictorial instructions on how to carry out a particular step.
The Ladder of Success
Dolphin is based around the Ladder of Success, which gives progression through a wide variety of ICT skills, up to and beyond the levels required by various National Curricula and Guidelines.
Modules cover a whole variety of topics at different levels.

Research skills using the web to research topics and find answers to questions
Data handling using databases and spreadsheets to create tables and charts and perform calculations
Collaboration communicating with others online, sharing files and folders on the network and by email
Problem solving using a screen turtle to explore regular shapes and patterns

"I like learning about skills on the computer because before I didn't know anything about the computer but now I know quite a lot.
The modules at the beginning were very easy but now I can see them getting harder and I will have a bit of a challenge ahead."
Michael, Pupil, Kingswells Primary School, Aberdeen
